What type of ice do A&V machines produce?
Our machines produce ice in the form of lacquers or scales better known as “cracked ice”. They don’t have a particular shape but in fact are irregular pieces. Ice can come out in the form of snow or frappe when adding the shredder to our machines (accessory piece).
What kind of industries use the ice produced by A&V machines?
Industries that use our ice include fish, seafood, food in general, construction, health and processes. Ice can also be pocketed and used for human consumption.
At what temperature does ice form on the surface of the evaporator?
Ice is formed at 10°F (-12.22°C).
Are all A&V machines built on request?
Yes, all our machines are manufactured on demand and manufactured by hand at our facilities located in Florida, USA.
Can you make A&V machines of special designs?
Yes, our factory and engineers can meet special needs and specific requirements.
Can you manufacture remote A&V units?
Yes, we manufacture self-contained units (“C”) and remote units (“CR”).
Can A&V machines be manufactured at any voltage or Hz?
We are able to produce machines at any industrial voltage/Hz.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we can export anywhere in the world. We can quote the shipping and insurance optionally and we currently have machines in more than 74 countries.
Can A&V machines be installed outdoors?
Yes, our machines are designed to be installed outdoors and are made for extreme climates and saline environments.
Are these A&V machines commercial?
No, these are high-strength industrial machines for continuous operation 365 days a year, 7 days a week and 24 hours a day.
Do the machines include a warranty?
We offer one (1) year warranty to all parts and components of the unit (including the compressor).
Do all units use eco-friendly refrigerants?
Yes, all our machines are made with eco-friendly refrigerants in accordance with the Quebec convention.
Does A&V sell machine parts?
Yes, we store the parts in our warehouse and can ship them via UPS/DHL the same day for fast delivery.
What type of compressor do you use in your A&V machines?
We use compressors for our small units (2,000 lbs. to 6,000 lbs) and compressors for our large units (over 8000 lbs/24hrs (3628.74kgs).
Do your machines run on salt water, brackish and sweet water?
Yes, our units could work with all three types of water. It must be specified to our engineers at the time of quotation.
Do your FDA-approved component machines include the food industry?
Yes, all units use FDA-approved components for the food industry, as well as stainless steels and lead-free bronze parts.
On the basis of what ideal water and air temperature is the production considered for the different models?
Production in 24 hours is considered under ideal air conditions 90°F (32.2°C) and water 60°F (15.6°C).
How much ice would an AV080 machine produce per day?
Our machines produce more than 8000 pounds of ice per day in ideal water and temperature conditions.
Are the machines that A&V Refrigeration produce, cooled by air or water?
We can do both types of cooling, although we recommend air cooling due to its easy maintenance. Between air-cooled units we can produce vertical or horizontal flow machines. In the case of water units they can be built with either brackish water exchangers or salt water.
