A&V industrial ice machines produce from 2,000 to 40,000 pounds of ice in 24 hours (90 °F air and 60 °F water). The hard cracked ice produced is ideal for commercial seafood, poultry, vegetable processing, industrial catering, chemical processing, concrete and the wholesale and retail food industries.
The evaporator sections, tubes, frame, panels and ice cutter are made entirely from 304 USA-made stainless steel. Maintenance-free bearings also enhance reliability.
With the exception of the evaporator, most major components are readily available at local refrigeration supply wholesalers. Although A&V maintains a full inventory of replacement parts, downtime is eliminated by the design feature of using standard parts.
The uncomplicated design eliminates major servicing headaches. Routine cleaning of the float tank assembly can be performed easily by your staff.
No moving parts in freeze zones such as augers, gears, gear motors or seals to give you problems. Gravity harvest ice on both sides of the vertical tube evaporator.
Evaporators are constructed using a dual vertical tube design which allows the ice to be formed on both inside and outside wall of the evaporator for maximum throughput and fast recovery.
Most of our machines have the ability to produce crushed ice as well as cracked with the optional installation of a “crusher”.
Each unit is tested to ensure quality within the total system. A&V offers a one (1) year limited warranty on all its parts and elements including the compressor.
A&V Industrial ice machines voltages, compressors and external dimensions can be designed and constructed to each client’s needs.
The ice thickness can be adjusted from 1/8″ to 5/8″ for maximum flexibility. With the addition of a crusher the machines can produce crushed ice. The ice produced is hard, dry, pure cracked/fragmented ice. The curved design provides more cold-producing surfaces giving immediate, long lasting cooling.

A&V Ice Makers produce ice on vertically suspended, double-walled cylindrical evaporators. Chilled water is continually re-circulated over the inner and outer surface of the evaporators as refrigerant passes through the space between the two ice making surfaces. This process utilizes 100% of the evaporators’ surface and provides fast production with maximum efficiency of heat exchange. Ice making water is re-circulated by a pump from the stainless steel sump (reservoir), where proper water level is maintained by a float valve. Water flows onto the inner and outer evaporator surfaces by simply tube water distributors.
The freezing period is determined by a repeating cycle timer. When the ice has reached its desired thickness (programmable), hot gas from the compressor is introduced into the annular space breaking the ice bond from the evaporator surfaces realizing the concentric cylinders of ice which fall by gravity into the auger (ice cutter) assembly. The rotation of the auger delivers the ice across the grid and discharges it into a storage bin or bunker (not supplied). The machine is equipped with a thermostat that will stop the machine automatically once the ice bin is filled.
Two adjustable internal timers control the cooling and defrost cycles that yield the ideal thickness of the ice. A third timer controls the dryness of the Ice.
